Description

Two nice boulders on the far West side of the reservation with mostly short, but good climbs that are easy to protect.

Getting There

Finding these boulders can be tricky since the trails to them look old and aren't on the Sourland Mountain Reserve trail map. The easiest approach is from the pipeline trail.

From the parking lot, head toward the south trails and make your way up the trail that follows the Texas Eastern Pipeline. Go all the way West past the Roaring Brook Trail (red trail). Once past this junction, the trail quality will worsen but keep going. A few minutes past the junction there is a yellow pole marked "Gas Pipeline" (see images). Shortly after this is a faint trail on the right. Follow that trail into the woods and you'll shortly run into a boulder with a large roof. The second boulder is another minute or so down the trail just past the fence on the right.

GPS of boulder with large roof (close to unmarked trail off the pipeline):
Lat: N 40°27'57.31" (40.4659)
Lon: W 74°42'49.02" (-74.7136)
