Back To The Future Slab is a new low angle slab somewhat behind The Headstone. The wall faces east, so it gets morning and midday sun but is surrounded by tall trees, so the base stays pretty shady. You probably won't see anyone in this area, since it's so new and away from most other areas. The rock is granite slab.

Getting There

Start on the main fire tower trailhead. Take the Zinn Overlook trail to the left. After you cross a down log on the trail, in about 100 feet, take a faint left that goes up and over the ridge. Follow a cairned trail south and east into the valley behind The Headstone. This area is hard to find if you are not familiar with Devil's Head areas, so looking on the Google map will help a lot.

Climb the slab to a ledge. Stay left of the left-facing, shallow crack. Climb a short bulge, and stay left of the block in the middle of the wall. For the second pitch, mantel onto a nice ledge big enough to stand on, and stem up the water groove. Trend left to the right-facing crack, and layback the short crack to get on another ledge. A short slab will lead you to the top of the second pitch. Be sure to check out the view while you're up there....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado

There are now two trails that turn left off of the Zinn Trail. They leave the Zinn Trail at the same time. Take the right of the two to get to the Back To The Future Wall.
