I would love some help crowd sourcing a solution to my back pain.
I have had chronic Back pain this year related to climbing. It comes, It goes, but its always the same region my right trap and rhomboid muscles tied into the erector tissue and my neck. the pain is not bilateral. It is concentrated just off my spine and up into my neck.
I had 3.5mm of forward rotation in my shoulder due to imbalance with my right chest and back. that seemingly has abated.
Pain is related to guarding the joint. Its been an ongoing issue that was a once a year thing. this year its happened 8-9 times.
Anyone in the climbing world deal with something like this before? any suggestions for places in ST gorge to deal with this?
when feeling healthy I climb often, now... I don't know how to fill the time

Have you tried rolling on a lacrosse ball (or similar)? Find the spot with the most pain and just lay there. Maybe slightly roll. Could take a long time, but you'll feel the muscle release if it's just tight.
Also, have you had your ribs checked? I had one out of place that was causing a similar issue. A massage therapist or PT can check that and fix it easily.
