Here, I am making the first moves of Pocket Pinch....

Description

This a pretty secluded location and there is a good chance you will have the place all to yourselves. People do occasionally hike this trail, so you might run into the random hiking group.

There are almost no trees along this stretch of coastline therefore the boulders are most often in the sun. The area can be quite windy at times, as well. You can climb all sides of most boulders so there is likely to be shade on at least one side no matter the time of day.

The rock is volcanic in nature, super solid, and most holds are smooth. On most boulders along here, the holds are small pockets but jugs are commonly found as well.

In most cases, the landing are good and often flat except a few rocks that can get moved.

Getting There

From Philipsburg, drive over the hill towards Guana Bay. At the bottom of the hill, go RIGHT, then at next intersection go LEFT and follow this road until it ends at a barrier and the trail head to Back Bay. The Back Bay Trail heads southwards and passes numerous boulders on the hillsides along the way. The trail reaches the Bay proper after about 15 minutes and you can easily see the larger boulders just up the valley from the cobblestone shoreline.
