Description

PLEASE SEE ACCESS NOTICE. This area has a plenty of sandstone bouldering for a couple dozen good boulder problems and more than a handful of fun sessions. There is a decent range of difficulty for most boulderers to have a good time. The quality of the sandstone varies. Overall it is less than great, but its not choss, nor is it sandy. Its strong enough rock that people come back to climb some more.

The landings are not fantastic, but are acceptable. Some slope noticeably downwards, have plenty of rock and talus at the base, or need to be built up more. Bring at least 2 pads for most problems.

Climb at your own risk with area access, rock quality, and landings in mind.

Getting There

5 minutes west of Sand Springs. Take the S 177th W Ave exit off of US 412/64. Park off the corner of W 9th St and S 174th W Ave, right next to the highway. Hike east for 1/4 mile alongside and below the highway to the 4 large white trees. About 20ft after a large fallen branch take a left onto a rough trail into the trees. Continue on the trail for 500ft or so uphill, walking around the right side of the 2 large warm-up boulders to avoid most of the thorns. The trail leads to the Citadel and Gargoyle.
