Asian Fever Buttress Rock Climbing

This is a light colored formation seen to the right of the pointed formation described in the West Mongolia approach. It can be identified by crack on the upper left face. This is "Yellow Peril". "Asian Fever" is an excellent 5.6, if the bolts are still there.
Other routes have also been done on this formation.
A wash through a small Valley leads to the boulder gully at the base.
From the pointed formation, first encountered on the approach. Go around it's right side and follow a wash through boulders to a small valley beneath this formation.

This fun climb goes up the face just right of a crescent crack ("Yellow Peril") on the left portion of the south face. Climb brown, featured rock to a bolt. Continue up slab passing six more bolts. Cracks on top for placing anchors. I visited this formation with my son over the holiday, and I guess I had it confused with another formation. I attempted to scramble up the backside, getting above the point of no return after a fun chimney, then having to surmount a small boulder problem and just barely making the chains. There is Not a walk-off on this one. Just goes to show how you can easily get over your head in Joshua Tree.
