Description

Sandstone on the beach. The holds can fall off pretty easily but the ones I used seemed to be very solid as I repeated each problem twice. Today on Oct, 24 2015 the sand level was the lowest I'd ever seen. Seeing as I've walked by these boulders my whole life I decided to develop a problem or two that could definitely be repeated.

Getting There

From the Agate street beach stairs head left (south) and walk around the first mini "point". If you get to the arch you've gone about a quarter mile too far. The rocks go from a mixture of chossy little pebbles to solid sandstone and the climbs are right there.

Climbing Season

Clover V4 6B  California : Los Angeles Basin : ... : Agate Street
Sit down start from whatever your hands can get to. I started with right hand on the grey sidepull and left hand in the pocket. Matched hand over hand and pulled to the right slopey hold. Cross over to a juggy crimp and top out. The top out is featureless and is definitely the crux. Don't use the right side of the boulder past the "crack". Or you can but it's way easier and probably not V4....[more]   Browse More Classics in California
