I have a black diamond vector. I'm thinking about adding more vent holes to my helmet like the vapor helmet. Thinking about using a really sharp knife or perhaps heating up some kind of wire Loop and cutting it out that way. Rich zz

I haven't cut apart your particular helmet but many have a plastic skeleton the foam goes around.

Even without the skeleton, helmets are designed like those balsa wood trusses you built in junior high science classes. The strongest lightest thing you can manage. If you take out a piece, especially a piece large enough to add meaningful ventilation, you will completely compromise the strength of your helmet.

Don't do it, you'll ruin your helmet.

Get a better vented helmet and save your old one for the fall weather.

Yer gonna die.

At least take the helmet off before you start cutting holes in it.

^Yes, this!

Don't do it or your helmet will not protect your head, the whole point of it. Just save up and buy a new helmet. Also, as someone that has a helmet with more vents, it's not really that much better with more vents.
