Was driving down the canyon around 3:30pm and saw Boulder County Sheriff and RMR personnel heading up to the Blob Rock area. Anybody know what happened?

Saw this story on 9News but haven't seen anything else: 9news.com/news/local/articl…

Sending good vibes her way!

Sad to hear about that man, hope she gets well soon!! Been a bad few weeks for accidents in Boulder Canyon. If you don't mind me asking did multiple pieces pull or just one? What climb was she on?

Thanks for the info, Matt, and I'm very sorry to hear about your girlfriend. I hope she recovers quickly.

Any info you can share on how it happened might help someone avoid an accident in the future.

Sorry to hear Matt - hope she recovers quickly!

I agree with Hansel if you are so inclined. At least - was she wearing a helmet? (you mentioned a fractured skull etc)

She has had surgery on her neck that went very well and she is beginning to move around a bit. Thanks to the other guys at Happy Hour Crag that day that made the 911 call and for helping to carry down our stuff.
You guys would really have benefited from some coursework in climbing techniques from a qualified instructor like Eli.

Have some heart, geez... Now it's not the time for "could've, should've, would've".

Matt, I'm very sorry to hear about the accident, hope your girlfriend heals well. We all screw up and make mistakes, or things happen out of our control - some people get lucky and get away with minor scratches, your girlfriend just happened to be not as lucky. If you poll people on this forum, I bet the majority have some kind of a close-call story that they wish they had done things differently.
