East Wall is a small slab, shorter than the other walls and lacking the overhangs down low that characterize the Middle and West Walls, but it provides two quality climbs at easier grades and good access to the Promised Land Ledge above and the exciting upper pitches of Zion Train and Don’t Rock My Boat.

A. Irie, 7, 1p, 55', bolts.
B. The Burning Bush, 7, 1p, 60', bolts.
C. Zion Train, 10-, 2p, 215', bolts.

Getting There

To reach the East Wall, turn left from the end of the approach trail, and follow the steep gully uphill along the base of the broken rocks above you. Burning Bush / Zion Train starts at the large tree at the top of the gully, and Irie is just beyond it.

This route is a bit slabby, but the holds are good. They are mostly small edges. The slab does not look very featured, but there are holds to be found. The hardest part is at about the third bolt. Mainly the difficulty comes from small edges. It is probably the better of the two 5.7s on this face....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
