Description
This is a broad area which consists of several small outcroppings and formations. What the Far East lacks in concentration it makes up for in quality. Climbs like the attention-grabbing Pump Factory and the grating Carhartt Crack more than make up for the extra ten minute hike from the Fortress area and are excellent at their grade.
Most of the climbs here get morning sun and are great hot day hideouts in the afternoon.

Getting There
As the name implies the Far East lies at the eastern edge of the more highly developed Woodford's areas. Several approaches are possible but the best is to follow the main approach trail to the Donnie G area. From there traverse east until you reach the large gully separating the main Woodford's areas from the smaller and more broken formations down canyon, about a ten minute hike. Carhartt Crack is found on the Work Wall which lies in this gully and faces east hiding it's taller face from the approach. Pump Factory is located uphill of the obvious Toprope Wall on the left (west) side of the gully.
