BETA PHOTO: Sketch/Topo of area around the climb Madigan

The climbs that are generally on the left side as you hike up to the cliff.

Getting There

Take the trail that starts at the big boulder behind the house. If you want to get to the climb Madigan, (if only to orient yourself at the base of the cliff) when the trail starts to move to the right continue contouring on the trail, then slightly up to the flat area at the base of Madigan. A few feet away from the START, a large tree has broken off near its base and fallen.

START - about 20 ft up and left of Madigan, below a dirty-looking overlap. COMMENT - Seldom, if ever, have I seen a piece of rock that appears as if it will yield only "ugly" climbing that actually "goes" with beautiful moves! P1 - Climb up to the overlap (gear) then climb up the right side flakes & cracks passing a bolt, then onto the nice face above with gear and bolt(s) about 100 ft The "Guide" and hence...[more]   Browse More Classics in New Hampshire
