Description

This large cliff offers solitude and sunshine for any climber willing to take the time to explore its base. An easily accessible obscure area.

You can reach an overlook with a steel railing on the top of the cliff by walking up the Old Big Oak Flat Road for about an hour. The railing is above the unestablished right side of the cliff.

Getting There

Park at the pullout just up river from the highway 140/120 junction. Cross the road and walk through the forest passing boulders and talus until you reach the obvious cliff.

Climbing Season

For the Lower Merced River Canyon area.

Weather station 5.4 miles from here
