Not a good idea, dude. Kids untie themselves and do stupid shit and then hit the ground. It is better to wait until they are old enough to take responsibility, driving age.

Like with so many things in life, no single policy works all the time. If the climber and belayer can be in sync and work as a team, it can work. So many kids can be just as adept as being safe at many of us adults if taught well from an early age. Go, Zane!
