Notchtop, 10/28/17. We had a little too much fun with verglas and postholing wind drifted snow on the approach so didn't climb, but the ice on route looked good.

Kevin, We did up to the last pitch Friday night. I had heard the last pitch was crux, but thought it looked easier than what I had just done on the second but it was midnight and the clouds had rolled in. Also we roped up and climbed a short pitch way below the actual first pitch but allowed us to go straight up to the climb with little snow on the ground. I did not know you could rap the route on rock anchors.

hey Mike - there was not an anchor before Saturday when Kevin found the perfect spot to thread there (how long until someone absconds with the beaner we left?). The last pitch sometimes was the crux - but now is filled in WI3 and quite easy

Robert, Tommahr, I was there a week ago and nothing had really formed up yet. I drove up Camp Bird Road, and there did not appear to be anything in condition. That may have changed some in this last storm cycle, but I think it will be some time before the ice fattens up.

Don’t know how’s it looking but was trying to hike up to chasm yesterday and bootpack pretty much ended at tree line so turned around, dumped a bunch of snow early this week... but I did get a peek of the east face and did notice some ice smears so maybe a good sign but didn’t get a pic

Since the folks on FB won't accept my request to join the ice conditions group, MP gets the beta. For those wondering about Officer's Gulch, here ya go. Reports of Lincoln look fun and all, but we had Round the Corner all to ourselves. A large party headed up Three Tiers as we were approaching, but by the time we got over there to climb it, it was all empty as well. Go get some! Three Tiers - pictures show pitch one and pitches two-three First pitch was fun. Second isn't really a pitch. Third was in good shape, though I couldn't get a 16 cm screw in and didn't have anything shorter, but it's just as well to not place and keep moving. Unnamed Gully , looking thin, getting baked in afternoon sun. Round the Corner, The Plumb, and Right of Round the Corner. Round the corner was pretty big, but chandeliered. I don't lead that hard yet, so I chose to leave it alone rather than sneak in and TR it. Looks untouched, but will likely be better if left to grow. Plumb and Right of Round the Corner were in easy conditions. I'd say Right of Round the Corner was only WI3, but I'm a horrible judge.

Looking for a summit county partner this Thursday. Was thinking RMNP Notchtop or AMU but the wind looks awful. Hit me up with a PM if interested.

All Mixed Up 11/15/17 AMU is fat and ready to climb. The wind was whipping around Longs today, but the cirque with AMU was comfortable to climb.
