Bottoms up for crappy beers!

I can drink a lot of it and not feel bad, both in a guilty “I spent too much money on booze” way and in an “I actually woke up without a hangover” way. The joke about beers like Coors Light is that they’re watered down, or mostly water, and well, yeah! I stay fairly hydrated knocking a few back, I can pace myself much easier, and they have a lot fewer calories so I’m not wrecking my diet every time I want to unwind. I get to have my beer and drink it too, so to speak. So, laugh at me if you want, but I think everyone should have a favorite crappy beer they can always count on. What’s yours?

Not for me. If I can't afford or access good beer, I don't need to drink beer that day. If I want something that costs less, has fewer calories, is more watery, and won't give me a hangover I drink water.

Help me out...what does this have to do with climbing, again?

It's part of the climbing brand, bro. Read the tear sheets.

Have you read zero climbing history?

I don't like craft beers and I hate IPA, which everyone seems to love. Don't like seasonal, pumpkin, blueberry or beers with stupid names. Grape fruit shandy's aren't too bad, thanks to my daughter. Lager's and British bitters are the beers of choice. Don't like beer you have to chew. Coors light is indeed water.

Ok...so climbers drink beer, therefore beer is climbing related?

What’s everyone’s favorite brand of toilet paper?

Crappy beer is fine.  I drank PBR last night.  However NEVER EVER drink cheap booze!

You're totally missing the point. It's not that climbers merely drink beer - it's that beer, and wine, have been thoroughly intertwined with climbing for a century. Wino Tower on the Dawn Wall; the 6-pack the Clint Eastwood character carried in his pack during training for the Eiger Sanction; the infamous pub stories of UK climbers in the 60's; the near constant references to beer in discussion forums; and a shit ton of other examples.

So since Alex Honnold doesn’t drink, does that mean he’s not really a climber?

Now your just being obstinately obtuse.

Guess what, Alex boulders, too. So do Tommy and Kevin.

I think that might be redundant - don’t obstinate and obtuse have similar etymologies?

Anyways, this whole discussion is moot since the only beer we can drink now is Pacifico since that’s what TC drinks.

Last trip I brought a bunch of good beer but sometimes you don't have a cooler and need to roll ultralight

Pour the liquor into a poland spring bottle and tear the label off to save even more weight.

But then you run the risk of the bottle being punctured by your link cam.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
