That being said, this forum is a giant cesspool of (very shitty) internet trolls. Seems they'be elected boissal as their captain.  I remember now why I've stayed away for so long.

Pretty much everyone busting your balls is a long time, level headed member of MP, so not trolls at all. Some folks disagreed with what you said and had some fun at your expense, NBD Price, it's all good.

FWIW I've been shot at two times - once while working on a cell tower in a Denver suburb and once while setting up a top rope anchor off of Mt. Herman road (by a Monument cop no less). Neither time was intentional, the only sound I heard was sheer fucking terror!

While bouldering solo yesterday at mile 5, I drove to the next turnout to turn around and when I did, a green sedan parked in front of me with a couple vatos getting out of the car and another white fully tinted scraper also pulled over. As someone with tattoos and mexican I didnt think much of it...but the car was a green sedan and they werent there to hike or climb..just saying

Your post specifies "a couple vatos" I'm thinking an accurate description would be very useful so is it possible it could be "a couple cholos" or even "a couple esas".

No one has postulated a theory as to why Hispanics in a sedan would shoot at climbers..............Here goes,

Theory 1. Mexican drug gangs in SLC require that you kill someone before you join this was a botched initiation.

Theory 2. Mexican drug gang in SLC is planning to assassinate a member of a rival gang at distance with a rifle, innocent climbers were used as target practice.

Theory 3. Mexican drug gang members went for a drive out in the country to test out some new firepower, pulled off to get the gun(s) out and could see some climbers and decided to shoot at them for fun.

Yeah obviously thats why I asked "Where should I look"

Obviously you have never shot at hard rock before. Even if he said " around the top of pitch 2" I bet you'd never find and marks.

Yes, I have shot at all types of rock. My neck is red AF.

actually a really good theory was givin up thread....slcc cleaned up gang graffiti at a location in the canyon, could be retaliation for doing so

Gangs retaliate to graffiti removal with attempted murder? Seems a bit over the top... but not necessarily out of the realm of possible either. Scary.

This whole sound of a bullet should be easy to test. Who wants to go climb Sasquatch? What caliber would you like fired in your general direction? I'm free all week!

Sasquatch is now 5.9- and Pentapitch 5.7+

Missed it.........if that's the case then the SLC climbing community has started a gang war...........if the paint goes back up don't remove it a second time.

Not over the top at all, some gangs require a murder just to become a member. Crossing out names is high on the list for reasons to kill someone. I would have never thought of SLC as a gang problem town but I guess just about every city in the US is dealing with it. JB

Many Mtn Project Moments of Zen in here, complete with resurrection of grk, price, lcc monkey, bheller, et al. Its almost like the gang got back together, including a few episodes of snortle-quality-beat-down.

Fun to watch Boisall destroy price for soft-serve-sacrificing his bi-anual filterless-tone-deaf post right into the face of common sense and a good, old fashioned beat down.

And to Brian for holding steady on apparently appropriately deleted comments.

My wife and my co-workers keep reminding me of the utility in being able to admit when you're wrong. It's super valuable to just concede some things. Otherwise, you'll end up being that 50-year-old white male who can't tolerate anyone telling them they're wrong. Own that stain so you can wash it out and move on!

If there is anyone who needs the ability to own a stain, it is someone with tenesmus.

The church vaults are further down canyon. The upper vaults that are across from Pentapitch are a private storage facility called Perpetual Storage. Either way both vaults are long artificial tunnels in the granite (quartz monzonite for you nerds) that maintain a constant temperature and humidity and are used to store sensitive things like microfilm and valuable documents.

climbing friend,

what are these "sensitive things" and "valuable documents?" Magical underwear? Magical glasses? Magical tablets or peepstones for the scrying? When you lose your magic glasses you instead just shove face into a hat to receive the divine visions?

I very much like enter the vaults and the inner sanctum of temple and discover like det. price just what it is that it is going on up in there, but they would not allow me in. perhaps you know of some disguise I may utilize for going in under the covers? I think perhaps my features are too stunning, my abs too chiseled, and my neck, back and arm meat too large and intimidating to pass through unnoticed...

If you say so.

Yup a thread about people getting shot at/the sound bullets make/the old crew busting balls is not a good place to drift into discussions on religious symbolism and transparency vs. secrecy and why. Doesn't change my opinion that those vaults are full of gold or that there's more going on there than the simple par the course symbolism you chalked it up to.  Just not interested in going back and forth about it here in this particular thread. Let's wait for the next S.P. to come along.
