So I will be working with the conservation corps from June through the beginning of August and don't have any local people to climb with. What is the typical method to find somebody to climb with in the valley?

There's a bulletin board at Camp 4 that always has lots of partner want-ads, or you can post your own.

Definitely the bulletin board.  Did that a couple of years in a row and met amd climbed with terrific folks.  One or two not so good but the rest great, including some that have been lifelong friendships.  It can be a great way to find partners in crime as you work through the classics.
