Cirque of the Towers - Memorial Day?

Anyone been up to the Cirque this early?  What's the snow been like up there?  Anybody been in there yet this year? I assume there will definitely be some snow.  Is there anything that would be likely to be snow free?

thanks.

Not a chance. 200% snowpack and we just keep adding to it.

I kind of afraid of that...  thanks for the info.

Just curious, but what time of year does the cirque usually melt out? and any predictions for when it might melt out this year?

thanks again

Depends on the year and your willingness to deal with snow. Based on this year? Maybe July.

I plan on skiing around the Cirque in the next few days. Socked in doesn't even describe it! I haven't seen the mountains in the last 8 days and our forecast isn't expecting to ease up any time soon. Unfortunately (for climbers at least), this is pretty typical, and if we see this pattern continue then it'll be a bit before the approach is dry. As of a few days ago, the road was still drifted in about two miles after you turn off on the Lander Cutoff Road. The snow depth percentages are a bit misleading, but definitely expect an above average snowpack, making early-season travel doable only with skis/snowshoes or hella willpower and copious amounts of post-holing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
