Beta stick retrofit

Has anybody done a retrofit of the stick clip to a beta stick? Seems like the ideal stick clip to me.

Are you asking whether it's worth switching from a standard painter's pole with squid (or the like) to a beta stick? Well, I have both and there are pros and cons of each.

The beta stick (at least the standard) is great for airline travel. I bought it for a trip to France. Also, it's great to bring up new projects that are at or currently beyond your limit, so you can clip up and work sequences. If you are morally and ethically opposed to these hangdog tactics, this will have little value for you. Finally, if you do much bouldering they can be really useful for brushing high holds or clearing snow. I've done this a few times and they fit nicely in a pad.

On the flip side though I find them shorter and more flimsy (less durable) than my original stick, which I still mostly carry. I had one fail to remain open and then snap completely, but to Trango's credit, they replaced for free with only a photo as proof. 

All in all, the beta stick is worth having if you intend to travel on a plane or work really hard moves, but not worth the money if you just want to clip the occasional first or second bolt.
