Description Suggest change

Previously known as the "5.8 Wall", the Waterfront is a west-facing wall up above the water tank at the beginning of Logan Canyon. Easy wall for beginners. Is west facing so you get some decent sun in the afternoon; however, there is a good ledge to belay behind to get some shade in the evening for all three climbs. :)

Getting There Suggest change

Updated Access info:  The best way to access The Waterfront is to park at the first turnout (paved) on the left (north) side of the highway, right after you cross the river, past First Dam.  Walk across the footbridge, past the hydro plant, up the old dirt road, which is now used as a trail.  When the road intersects the old canal (which is now filled in) it forks.  Follow the left fork up the steep hill, past the no trespassing signs (the word is that the Logan Police have granted access for climbers if you stay on the access trail).  Once you are at the top of that little grade, you arrive at another old road with more no trespassing signs in either direction--look for the foot trail right there at the top of the little steep section (that will get you off the old road).  The trail will sidehill west, back to wards the mouth of Logan Canyon, and take you up to The Waterfront--it is about a 1/4 mile from here to the wall.  You can also use the description below.

Cruise up Logan Canyon about 0.6 miles from the first dam bridge. Park on the right side of the road at the Nature Center pull off. Cross the road/ bridge to the dirt road that goes up toward the water tank. (At the beginning is a descent overhang bouldering) Follow the dirt road for about 5-10  min until you get to the no trespassing sign and follow the directions above from there.

Accessing the maintenance road is illegal but LCPD has informed us that climbers can access the routes if you immediately sidehill from the second road as soon as you come to it (described above). However, due to graffiti and liability, the entirety of the maintenance road (water tower road, upper most road) is technically off-limits. The Waterfront Wall, however, is legal to climb on. The dispute is with the approach, only. Do not enter into the stone structure or water tower area as they are illegal to be in.
