Looking to climb a big wall in Colorado in May. Post some of your favorite big wall climbs or big wall climbs you are currently looking forward to climbing. I'm looking at Black Canyon NP and hoping to stay on the wall for at least a night (grade V). I'm looking for a mostly free climbing route but obviously open to aid.
The black is Baller that's probably the best big wall climbing in Colorado Save for RMNP IMO and less crowded with way easier access. Not Colorado but check out Zion as well. Good luck.
To name a few in the Black, The Great White Wall(5.10), the Scenic Cruise(5.10), Astrodog (5.11+), and Tague Yer Time (5.12) all have a ledge about halfway up for a bivvy. It depends what grade you're looking for. If the first two are easy for you, you'll spend a lot of time hanging out on the ledge. Astrodog and Tague converge to the same amazing bivvy ledge. If you want to haul a ledge that certainly opens your options.
I second the guidebook tip. It was done very well.
