SizeSquirrel - Climbing Shoe Sizing & Sales

Just add a "base layer". Just input a base condition that La sportiva is usually 2 sizes smaller than 5.10
I would add some kind of warning that this data is suspect and anecdotal, but at least it's something better than a blind purchase. La Sportiva being 2 sizes smaller is definitely a misnomer. Go try on a sz9 Verdon and sz7 Futura...I'm not going to wait up for when you're done. Hell there are LOTS of things commonly said about climbing shoes that are wrong, like TC pros are narrow. And yeah until you try on a shoe everything in anecdotal. |

US/UK sizing only? What is this, 1987? |
|
not scrolling all the way down and missin the eu sizing...Maybe you are in the 80's |

Thanks for the feedback! |

Happy New Year! |

Thanks Eddie for putting this all together. It's amazing what crowdsourcing data like this can do. It's a great tool for those times when you can't find the shoe you want at the brick and mortar shop, Also people unfortunate enough to live in a town without a gear shop. |

Thanks Eli! |

Eddie Ferrer wrote:Hi again everyone. Just another update, I've added a sales page with shoes from Amazon that are currently on sale. Amazon is a little weird with what pricing information it has available to developers, but I'm looking to add other retailers in the future. You can check it out here: SizeSquirrel - Shoes On Sale I also added a forgot username feature, in case you forgot your username. I a couple more features coming up next, adding even more shoes, and we're gonna have a small ad in the next issue of climbing! Let me know if you have any feedback, if you havent logged in in a while, check it out!Awesome. Thanks! |

Anonymous wrote:Yes and not only for the shoes but, for people's profiles. And this based on their feet. More information on each person's foot can help immensely. There are those people who have mixed sized feet (myself included) and things like Morton's toe. My feet are Egyptian, for example. The more information about the person's foot the better. In fact, street sizing tells us next to nothing about how the shoes will fit our feet. One major reason we need a site like this in the first place :-DI think the toebox shape is important info, but what about people whose toebox doesn't quite fit those shapes? My dad has morton's toe (greek) and my mom has egyptian toes and so I have something in between where my big toe and 2nd toe are equal length and then the rest of my toes are egyptian. |

Good point. And yes, I think this would definitely be valuable info to have on the website as toe shape plays a big part in shoe fit. Perhaps taking all the shapes you can find images of and using those. I think Having an image is very important, though, as many won't know the shape of their foot by name. |
