Just moved back from Denver, looking for fun solid partners in Portland

My wife and I just moved back to Portland after living in the Denver area for about 5 years. I'm looking to find some fun, solid, adventurous climbers out here for some Trout Creek trad, Smith sport, mountains up in Washington, Index, Squamish, etc.

I do like teaching folks to climb, but at this point I'm not looking to mentor anyone, I'd like to find people climbing roughly similar grades so we can both push ourselves and keep getting better.

I'm usually comfortable leading 11's sport, and pushing myself to get some low 12's. A little lower than that trad.

I'm a member at Planet Granite, and of course go there a bunch to try and stay in shape, but mostly I'm interested in outdoor partners. Shoot me a message if you are interested!

hey dan,

this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but i'm coming to portland for a conference tomorrow & thursday (march 15 & 16) and i'd love to find a partner for PG for one or both of those nights. i just moved to southern california from the bay area, so i'm no help for long-term partners, but i have a PG membership & lead card.

even though it's gym climbing, i'm psyched to get into this particular gym because a friend built it and i haven't seen it since it was under construction.

would you be up for a gym climb wednesday or thursday night? or both?

you can pm me at kewittman@gmail.com (not the email affiliated with my mp account).

hope to hear from you!
kara

Hey thanks for getting in touch, but I can't get out those days to the gym. Hope you find somebody.

Am interested in climbing Hood (2nd summit), Adams, Helens (2nd summit), Sisters (bend) and some other beginner mountains this year. Looking forward to hone mountaineering skills and crevasse rescue course to do Rainier and more challenging mountains soon. I live in Hillsboro and planning to hit PG on a regular basis in May to hone rock climbing skills. Interested in Smith this spring/summer. Let me know @ sandhya4nanotech@gmail.com. I will share my climbing experience if you wish to know.

Thanks,
Sandy

Hey Dan,
I'm a local here, working mid 12s sport, and mid 5.10s trad in the area, and am always willing to meet up with potential partners with experience. Mostly climb during the week.
Message me if interested and I'll send you my cell number.

Hey Dan and Micah,
I'm climbing a bit lower grade sport and trad than you guys while getting back in shape, but def wanna get out. Most of my partners were left up in Seattle when I moved down here last year. I'm shifting back to Planet Granite gym wise. I wanna get out in trad/alpine/glacier/whateva. Work at night so can do gym sessions in the mornings, get out during the week. Typically have sun-Tuesday off.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
