US Made Softshell Jacket?
|
Looking for an American-made hooded softshell jacket. Who makes them besides Wild Things? |
|
The Chinese |
|
I'm looking for American made Gortex bibs. |
|
Ben, check out Beyond Clothing. They do custom technical outwear and I've been super pleased with my Beyond softshell jacket. (I'm 6'5" so having a custom-sized jacket that, for once, really fits me is REALLY nice.) You can have hoods added to their softshell jackets. |
|
Even some Wild Things stuff is made overseas. |

jack roberts wrote: Arcteryx=CanadianNot many of their stuff is made in Canada anymore. Same prices but with a made in China label. I second the Beyond comment. I have long arms and some things never fit they made me a great jacket. May it rest in peace. Man I need to order another one. |

its designed primarily for military and LE but TAD gear is made in the US |

Third the Beyond. I'm on my second one. |

Westcomb is a relatively new company who, at least as of last year, was making everything in Canada. |

This Colorado company is making all their stuff in the USA and are the chief supplier for ABC News Worldwide. They appear to make high end soft shells from very premium brand waterproof breathable fabrics. I believe they are even seam taping in Colorado, USA for full waterproof models. Very cool to see this being done in the USA and don't know of many others making similar goods. fulsus.com I own a hard shell Mountain Jacket from them and it is at the same quality level as the Canadian Arc'teryx I used to own. |

Fulsus appears to be another private label company, most likely dropshipping Colorado Freeride Systems jackets. Nothing wrong with it, they make great looking gear. Probably the same kid spamming with these "new designs" as before. Transparency, bruh. |

and speaking of American-made softshells |

If you dont mind a stale brown/gfreen color, I think most of the military issue kit (Patagonia, Arcetryx etc) are all manufactured in the US. I have the military version of Patagonia Dimensions jacket and it is great. They used to sell leftovers on their website, but if not you can find loads on ebay (you can look for 'Patagonia PCU' or 'arcteryx PCU' etc). |

Another vote for NWAlpine. I have their softshell jacket, and their thinner softshell salopettes. I use both for ice climbing, ski touring, and alpine climbing. The jacket is minimalist, stretchy, and super durable. I use it with the salopettes, over an R1 and wool shirt for ice climbing down to -10C. I have a patagonia houdini in case wind picks up. |
