Climbing Pants You Can Live In

I've been testing these pants for several months now and I started climbing and hiking in them, but now I mostly live in them because they're so damned comfortable. Good stretch, tough as hell, easy to clean. They've replaced my Ferrosis and my Mont Bell pants as my go-to outdoors pants. Kickstarter just went live and I think it's worth checking out. (PS - I have no interest in the Kickstarter and don't get anything from it. Just tested the pants.) |

I wish they didn't have a draw string belt you have to tie. Also the waist size to inseam length will prove problematic for me. |

Prana Brion is my go-to. All of the awesomeness of the Zion pants with none of the cargo pocket weirdness. |

I've been wearing OR goldrush jeans for 4 months. I think every single day, honestly. I've washed them once I believe. The stretch is grand but the stench is non-existent. Okay I've likely just stopped noticing. Are they water-resistant? No. Do I need them to be? No. And that OR guarantee? Ohh that's nice. |

First Ascent guide pants! Utilitarian, comfortable, and $65. |

$50 for a pair of pants ain't bad (but I'm not buying an $85 pair of pants to wreck). The KS video is a little eye-rolling, but some of the design features are nice, so props. Having it use it's own stuff sack sounds like this will make great travel pants. |

They lost me at elastic waistband. Maybe if i was a pregnant woman or Homer Simpson i'd find them acceptable. |

Gotta second both Zion and Brion. Best pants for anything basically, hands down. Worn a pair almost every day for the last several years! |

2nd on the First Ascent Guide Pants. I still just prefer jeans (cheap Levis from Target) for my everyday wear. But I've lived in the First Ascent Guide pants on big walls and they are really comfy and surprisingly durable. |

They get dirty really easily for some reason, but they always wash up nice and clean.I've owned and loved by Guide Pants (non First Ascent version) for years now. How are the FAs different? |

I'm assuming that a few companies have had pants or jackets with the guide name. I'm guessing they all have their idea of what that means. |

They look very meh tbh, they neglected any proper articulation in the patterning to try and keep a clean front but then are far too short to wear for anything outside of climbing (like seriously they don't even go past your ankles). |
