Does Mt. Rainier often have them this large?

No idea in general but this was in late July so that probably makes a difference. These were up to 3 feet long and a real pain to walk through.

I haven't climbed Rainier, or any other NW volcano, in decades, but I don't recall seeing anything like this (just some fairly oblate sun cups). Wow, three-feet high would be tough to walk through. It would be interesting to hear of anyone else's observations.
