Lurking so I can also get post #69, since we're talking about public deflowering and all.

Happy Birthday Helen! Always glad to see your take on things in the forums!

On your birthday you shall Climb
don't fret just because it's your first lead time
Make sure your gear is organized and ready to go
just don't place it in the rock that's ready to blow
Be sure your hair is not a mess
and make sure you know what to do with your PAS
Some like to wear it like a thong
Aleks warns this could do you harm
If you stumble you just might fall
just be sure not to hit anything on the wall
Your partner might use the deadly ATC
if he drops you whack him over the head with a GRI GRI
When you are done you will find relief
and others will standby in disbelief.

Happy Birthday Helen!

Happy Birthday.
Best of luck with your first lead, I'll leave you with the famous words, once spoken by Spike Milligan.

#71 Wish I could be there to support. We've all had the fear of the runout and the first whipper. I still feel endorphins when I see someone's nervous aura during their first. Make it a bold one, like 5.9/+! Happy birthday!

Thanks, everyone! You all are awesome!

@Nick Sweeney, I do climb for myself, don't give a fig about anyone's opinion whatsoever about much of anything. A definite perk of being an old lady! Thanks for your comment, and there was no need for anyone to flag it. :-)

You people need to work on your basic math skills, like, counting? You kinda stumbled along, but ya got there!

But, I'm planning on launching into leads anyway, this was really my gift to all of you, a stupid bit of pointless fun, that I hope you enjoyed. Honestly, climbers are one of the best parts of climbing.

We truly are having a brutal winter here. We've had colder, we've had snowier, but not at the same time, for many weeks with no let up, and it's still at it. And more to come. We're okay so far at our house, but the whole southern end of the state, and our side of Oregon, is a disaster. Ice jams on the Snake, broken pipes, broken water mains, roof collapses, power outages, school closures, avalanches, rock fall...And that's with the snow in place. Ah well.

So. If anyone was expecting a trip report tomorrow, you are out of your frickin mind. To put it gently.

Although, if someone kidnapped me, hauled me off to a WARM location, I'd deep water solo in a bikini for ya.

Yeah. So. There is a to do list on my page, these are mostly climbs that I have done, top rope, some are sport, some trad. I'll be asking a few questions down the road, but these are ones I'll be looking at if it is ever climbable here.

A heck of a lot of kindness in this thread. Again, thanks!

I'll shoot a few more replies soon. Some of you have it coming back at ya!

Best, Helen

# 80 to "Short 'n Stacked" R~> Ya' ain't so old! Happy birth day, Go Climb A Rock!, (when it's warm) Hey you looked before your time!, If the Shoe fits!, You share a date with greatness! My wife and I both, on the 19- 20th ! (1st month too)Or we share the date with Greatness:

 You!

Edit: @ . . . Hugs delivered - and best wishes from her to you. "Puts up With a lot" Those who know me, and her, know She does Not put up with a lot for sure!, I'm compact and have always been more than a handful The Mrs, S, is a saint and gained me as I Hit the age wall, 20yrs ago.

I hope you have your idea for early leads. You know best your climbing strengths/weakness(s) If not, wow, while his dislike for me was evident, #71, up thread there

, is solid sounding.

'Stemming routes', where you can 'hip in' to get no-hands rests, routes steep enough, some short crux, but with continuous gear placements. . . . .

Again; That Birthday co inky dink ! goofy stuff, or groovy, to some of us ,
