Guidebook Arrival

The shipment has arrived!

This book has been a long time coming and I raise a glass to toast all the climbing you are about to do. 375+ routes, 550+ pitches, this book is jam packed with west side adventures.

The weather is perfect, the season is prime, all the routes have names, and now you will never wonder "what is that climb over there? again.

A huge thank you to everyone who pre-purchased a guide to get it off the ground. Thank you to industry sponsors who also backed the book to help take it to print: Five Ten, Scarpa, Mountain House, Omega Pacific,Summit Hut, Golden Rule Vineyards, and Trango. These companies support climbing at the grassroots level.

Come pick yours up locally by emailing me at cochiseclimbing@gmail.com for the address (Mountain&Grant). If you want one to ship, order here : cochiseclimbing.com

So stoked this book is out. My family and I will be out in the Stronghold Feb 28th thru Mar 5th. Looking forward to meeting you and getting your book. Thanks again for getting this info out to climbers. Looking forward to seeing new (to me) areas of the Dragoon mountains. Here is an East side picture.

Ok here is a West Side picture of some rock that looked very climbable. Maybe it will be in the book. It is a bit north of the Slavin Gulch trail head. Anyways, thanks again.

This book was designed, written, climbed and mostly photographed by me- Tanya Bok.

But it was not just me. Others came to my side to see it through and I will forever be grateful. They beta tested, photographed, posed for photos, submitted route information, hiked, climbed, edited, and re-edited. They contributed stories, historical photos, and wisdom.

So this book is the product of the love for the area.

All your favorite routes now have names and many more to fill your next trip.

Hi Tanya,

thanks for all your hard work. Just to clarify, is this book just the west side? If so what would be the borderline so to speak since some areas can be accessed from either side? Thanks.

The West Side is Sheepshead to Squaretop and the East Side is Zappa Dome to Cochise Dome.

@cochiseclimbing I'm way overdue for a trip there. We gotta get our sweet little baby (!) to survive a couple more years before we can leave her with gramma and make at least a weeklong trip back to your neighborhood.

Great guidebook! The approach and route descriptions are right on the money. We had a blast at Headline Dome on the backside of the Sheepshead yesterday. We rapped in on Extra Extra, climbed P1 of The End of An Era, P1 of Read All About It and climbed out on Extra Extra. Thanks for all the hard work. Attached is a pic of Mike Leonard leading P1 of End of an Era

These books are great. You basically need them to climb in Cochise today. Just so many more routes than there used to be in the late 90's and early 2k's. Best of luck.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
