FYI for people looking for gear, I was in Rock and Resole last night and their selection is increasing. By "increasing" I am not referring to just shoes. I am referring to shoes, ropes, pro, packs, harnesses etc... Selection was still limited, but looks to be growing. They have a pretty good shoe selection in. I saw Dan Hare at the front register working on marking/pricing some other stuff up for the wall, so it looks like he's in there now too. I ended up chatting with the owners last night who mentioned that they are trying to get together a program whereas you can get a 20% single item discount (IE a rope) if you make a donation to the BCC/Access Fund as well. Sounds like the 'how-to' sort of detail on that is still being worked out with the BCC folks (I'm no longer on that board, so I'm not following it closely). They already have a program on shoes that if you buy them there, you get a free resole certificate with them for future use. But anyway, there is another option in town for picking up gear, and it's a mom-and-pop place. Now, Does anyone have their phone number?
That's awesome! I love R&R, they are huge community supporters too.

I just wish they had better hours. Closing at 6 is pretty early for a gear shop (or for picking up your shoes if you live in Denver).

Anyone with inside knowledge know who to contact about a possible sale of this business?

Yeah... 9-6 last I knew.
I hear expanded weekend hours are coming, but I didn't ask when.

Fingers crossed for local businesses.

Pretty sure the store has already been sold. Owners of sea to summit bought, or are buying it, I heard...

I can't speak for Gary, but from other articles about the shop any time they get his opinion, he's basically said, "Hey, look, I sold the shop, so it's nothing to do with me anymore"

I'm looking forward to drinking a beer and listening to Gary's stories; I think he's looking forward to telling them.

I of course want Neptune to succeed, but I also want all the other shops to succeed, too. Shops open up, shops close, and that's just how it goes. The community nights are one of the things an online shop just can't really provide, so we all should see the value in them.

Could get some local owners again.
Good folks!

Last night at the slideshow, they announced that the Letter of Intent had been agreed upon, and they are in the due diligence process, and hope to close the deal by the end of the month.

So unless something really awful is lurking, Neptune's should be in local hands again soon.

I skipped last night, but I've seen Gary's super 8 of that ascent a few years back. Crazy!
