I highly doubt that it's the hardest route in southern california considering the fact that Jumbo Love at 5.15b is located in southern california as well.

Hi Jed. I was last up there in the cave area maybe 3-4 years back and noticed a bolted line with very obvious chipped out holds. Climbed there a bit maybe 15+ years ago and had not been back in a while. I used to look for holds in the cave and knew some day that it would probably go naturally as standards progressed. Anyway, is this route that one or is it next to this one? Not sure if you noticed the manufactured route up there. Anyway, thanks for the nice picture. It is very pretty up there.

This caught my attention as we've moved back and I've got plans to develope some more climbs in this area again this year.

From the picture it looks like this may be "Trail of Tears" in the Lost City area, which I put up as a top-rope start to "Welcome to My Nightmare", which is a short lead climb that starts at the "Trial of Tears" tr bolts.

It's the climb just left, west, of "Black Rattler", another difficult classic.

I'm not able to go up there right now to do trail work, knee issues, the gulley needs some 4 X 4's placed in, as I knew it one day would, in a couple of short sections.

Anyway, do you have other photos of this 5.15 climb so that I can figure out where the climb is?

Perhaps a penciled in photo on the topo.

Also, I found "Masterpiece - Direct" to be the climb with "The" hardest move I ever finally pulled off after numerous attempts - the left foot step from the last foothold at the 4th bolt, and not the down climb a couple of feet to the right variation.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that the area has not been abandoned, it's a very special place with so much quality rock.

Peace and Love,
Martin Veillon

I think it is an undone manufactured line.

Overhang. Considered to be the hardest route in the county, if not, southern CA.
