Anyone know where I can find Mark Twight's 1988 Climbing Magazine article, "Rise and Fall of the American Alpinist"? I've tried a Google search and you have to pay to look at old volumes of Climbing Magazine. Any help's appreciated. Cheers

you know what issue #? I can check my stack of mags, I have most issues going back to early 80's.

I can't find the reference to any issue number, I only know it was from 1988, maybe mid '88?

I flipped thru the 88' issues and didn't see it. R&I maybe?

It was definitely Climbing Magazine. He said so on one of the article on his website. I tried calling the oh so helpful folks at Climbing Magazine and they basically told me I was an idiot for even asking a question like that. Guess it seems pretty farfetched that someone would call Climbing Magazine looking for an older article in Climbing Magazine.. Way of the universe I reckon. Thanks for the help. Cheers

Are you sure it's not in "Kiss or Kill"?

When I have some more time I'll see if I can find it. It's fun reading through those old issues every so often, brings back the memories!

It could be but I'm sure he would've said so somewhere on his site. Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even think to look there. Cheers

Found it - Climbing 108, pg 130 and 131.
I can scan it and send you a copy tomorrow.

Back in the old days, when Climbing actually contained useful
information, they used to compile an index, and it was
download-able (if that's a word) as a PDF. Found it in there.

Sweeeet! I've been combing through all the stuff on their site looking for some kind of index but have not been successful. Thanks for the help!
