Oregon/ Northern California Climbers

Was wondering a couple different things. One: New to area from Tahoe and wondering how many clibers are in the area. I'm in Bookings and kicking around the idea of opening a bouldering gym.
Two: Also looking for partners to climb with and learn local crags

Brookings? Probably better off taking up surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, hang gliding, or paragliding.

Maybe Medford or Corvallis, but better to raise Alpacas, fish, or surf in Brookings.

Also live in Brookings, always looking for a climbing partner. There is one crag just south of Crescent City. Let me know if you are interested.

Woah wait what? Brookings? There's a crag 45 minutes south with grades from 5.6 to 5.14a.

Uhhh, I've been working some boulders at mill beach. There's a great face at the far south end of lone ranch. But it's undeveloped. No cracks, no bolts.

I've been daydreaming about a boulder gym here but it would be hard to support I think. Medford has over 200k in the area for their gym. Humboldt as well.

There's a few of us I guess. I know there's got to be some rocks somewhere near by to develop.

I went and checked out one of the places right by the Klamath. Wasn't super stoked on the crubly sand stone. Is there others?

Not unless you make one. There's a few places I'm going to expire this summer up the chetco but beyond that....Not really. Greg Orton's guide book lists an offwidth project from 04. But I don't know of it every got established and the guy putting it up in GB moved away.

Theres a spot about 20 minutes south of Crescent City, called "Promontory". You park at the pull off for Willow Creek right off the 101 and then walk up the beach to the crag. About 2 years ago all of the routes were re-bolted. This time of year there will be a water crossing as the creek overflows down the beach due to the heavy rains. It's not bad, I've done it a few times. There's a few 5.9 sport routes and then the rest are 5.10 and up. Let me know if you guys are interested and we can meet up sometime.
