Thanks for the nod. I literally laughed out loud. I have been out on an extended ice climbing trip. Looks like y'all got it covered.

kevinhansen wrote:Ok folks the backpack and thermorest chair thing have been shipped. Shipping was over $30 combined. Rather than get me the cash back, what if you paid it forward? Dig through your gear stash for two or three items you don't use, post them here, and ship to someone who could use it. Better for the gear. Better for others. Better for the planet. Better for you.

Free nut tool, red camp tri- cam, and quick link.

For those just joining us, this is a 'Free gear thread'.
So dig through your gear and take a picture of the stuff that you don't take with you to the cliff.
If you are thinking it's acceptable to ask for gear, that's what parents, Christmas, Birthday's, and Craigslist is for.

The universe smiled on me late one afternoon last spring when, descending from a day of climbing, I came across a brand new mountaineering axe in the middle of the trail. I tried for weeks to find it's rightful owner, but to no avail. Now, nearly a year later, I've decided to accept the gift and move on. But alas! I already have a mountaineering axe I'll no longer need. So it seems only fair that I pass it on to someone that needs it more than I. Tell a good story why you should have it and what adventures you'll take it on, and it's yours (provided you can pick it up in person in Somerville or meet me one weekend, wherever we happen to be climbing).

It's a 50cm Grivel Pamir axe with a length of webbing tied to the pick.
