I dare all these people who swear by durability of their helmets, to do a bend test. I bet at least half of them are cracked. The cracks are very hard to detect at first glance. It's easy to test - just squoosh your helmet with your two hands side to side and front to back. There should be no even slightest bending in all directions, if your helmet is intact. These foam ultra-light helmets are super non-durable and will crack if you stuff in your pack wrong or throw your pack carelessly.
P.S. highaltitude, I've never seen you wear a helmet except for ice climbing which is rare. Does it mean you guys are psyched on ice?
Which I'll sell for $10 plus the cost of shipping. It zips open around the circumference and will protect any climbing helmet. It was designed for high-end cycling helmets.
Those vapors (and even vectors to some extent) are terrible helmets, only worth it if you can get them for around $50 bucks, and even then you'll probably need to buy another one after 6 months, hope you got some kind of deal on it. The petzl sirocco looks stupid, but mine has held up for more than 2 years of less than gentle use.
