Albuquerque Van Camping?

I am headed down to Hueco tomorrow after work. Would like to pull over in Albuquerque for the night. Any suggestions on where I can park my van for a nap?

Research tells me the Walmart is a no go, and the casinos have since started charging fees.

Any help is much appreciated. Looking for somewhere just off I25 or close since it will be dark and I am not familiar with the area.

Theres a couple rest areas off I-40 that would be a good bet.

If you can make it another hour to Socorro, you can find easy camping at the box or at spook. Directions on this site if you look up Socorro climbing. It isn't very far off of the freeway either.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
