If you do some digging you can hunt down the location of dead deer falls in old ice threads here on MP. I'll also say it's hardly worth the effort. I don't want to be a naysayer but in terms of quality it doesn't compare to any Provo Canyon routes. There are some pretty impressive routes in that area though, some accessible, some not.

Not a conditions report and will remove if anyone is offended, just PM me. Selling 3 sets of tools and 7 pairs of crampons, would love to see them go locally. mountainproject.com/v/fs-pe…

Maple as of today is just smears -- even the roadside stuff and Hourglass were too thin for stubbies. Coats as of today:
As a side note, I left my BD Jacket up there on the big juniper to the left of Coats Corner and would really like to have it back if anybody would like to do a good deed and grab it for me in exchange for beer and good karma.

Provo Update - It is pretty anemic - more waterfall than ice by noon. A handful of lines on the apron are in. It looked like white nightmare had enough on it to climb. Upper canyon lines in similar condition. It was warm. Rock and ice fall with the warmer temps made the base a bit sporty by noon. An early start would be recommended and pay attention to the temperature differentials with the inversion ramping up. Happy Solstice. PT

Also, walked my tools past Storm Mountain this morning. It's in for those a little more bold than I. Well attached early in the morning, but thin.

First two pitches on gwi were wet but ok. Third was good ice on the climbers right side. Fourth looks to be falling apart. Hopefully it hangs in there with the warm temps were gona have today. Scruffy band was getting climbed aswell. Looked to be ok. Disco duck/ cold duck looked to have a fair amount of ice on it aswell.

Not a bit of snow on ground hard to tell from road without binoculars but ice looks rotten. This year's ice trip looks to be slim pickings

Upper Falls area (past Bridalveil) is partially formed- the upper sections of everything are still wet-tooling.

Joe's had good ice on CCC falls including the last pillar, the curtain on deadbolt was good, best I've seen this time of year. Some others climbers said Donorsicle is in.

Hey all, Coming from out of state for New Years. Want to climb gwi or something in Provo. Is the ice in at all or should I leave the tools and gear? I heard it was raining a couple of days ago and may have trashed everything Thanks!

I would bring tools. The temps have dropped into the teens at night and stuff is growing.

Upper pitches on the GWI looking a little better than last week. Low elevation temps are going to be cold the next few days so things should be getting better. A few of the normal smears of ice on superior.
