I'm driving down to south america and patagonia from SF. Long trip so looking for partners that may be interested to meet for one day, few days, couple of weeks, whatever. Areas I'm trying to hit (not an exhaustive list):

Potrero Chico (late October)
Suesca (Late november, early december, or april)
Hatun Machay (maybe march/april?)
Santiago area (christmas/new years)
Cochamo (January/Feb)
Chalten (Jan-March)
Bariloche (Jan/Feb)
Piedra Parada (Jan/Feb)

I will have my rack of doubles, ropes, camping gear, etc. Focused more on long trad stuff, but sport climbing is fun too. Won't have a crash pad but I'd be down for some bouldering as well, although that is not my focus.

If anyone is looking to surf or adventure in some other way (whitewater raft/kayak, mountain bike, etc) also hit me up!

I speak spanish and have family in Chile, so that will be my base while traveling in SA.

Let me know!

Hey Gabe,

I will be in Chile/Argentina for January and February and would be open to meeting up and getting into some adventures! I definitely want to get on some long trad routes while I am there, but would also love to do other cool shit. I am flying in to Puerto Montt on Jan 10th, and would like to head to Cochamo on my way to Bariloche. My plan is pretty tentative at this point.

Let me know if your interested in meeting up.

Cissa wrote:Hey Gabe, I´ll be heading to the Bariloche/Frey area in late december, and then to Chalten as weather windows permit. I´m planning on getting on the Guillaumet or the S, the "easiest" stuff I can find since I never climbed there. I´m considering Chochamo in March. Will probably have all my kit with me, no big wall experience but good trad and alpine, and altitude, and lived in Chamonix for a year as well. Get in touch!
Cissa, PM'ing you!

Hey Gabe,

Still looking for a climbing partner from the 5th -19th of November? If so, where do you plan to stay? I am considering climbing in South America or Asia during those weeks, but need a climbing partner. I would also like to do some surfing, kitesurfing, hiking etc.

Gabe,

My girlfriend and I will be arriving in Punta Arenas on March 2, 2017. After a few days there we will be heading to Torres del Paine to hike the W. When we leave there we will be heading to El Calafate on the 9th. We were thinking of hiring a guide for climbing on the 10th and/or 11th. Heading to Mendoza on the 12th through the 17th. Then heading to Santiago for a few days before we head back.

If you want to try to hook up either in El Calafate or Mendoza let me know. I climb mostly trad, both crack and bolted, but not opposed to sport. My girlfriend can follow just about anything I can lead. I climb mostly in Suicide Rocks and Joshua Tree, with a couple of trips to Yosemite and the Needles each year. I can bring whatever gear is necessary to supplement yours if we can hook up. Otherwise, I was planning on bringing minimal gear if we hire a guide.

I'm going to be in the Medellin area from mid-December to early January if you are passing through. Would be fun to go out to San Félix or El Peñol.

PMs sent, I'm hoping to head that way for the month of February.

Hey dude! I'm flying to Bogotá the 13th. I'll be there through April. When would you leave for chile? Would you come back in April or that's a possibility?

Would love to get down to Cochamo or El Chalten this season. Not sure about finances though. If it would be easy to find a partner I'd love to meet people down there!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
