Take a closer look. It's not what you think.

I once reported a front page photo that appeared to be a candid shot of a woman with her pants down who seemed to be seeking assistance in removing a tick / cactus needle from her rear. Management took it down right away, but it had more than 20 likes and had been on mountainproject for several years.
You got that famous picture removed?? That was a piece of MP history! Those were homeless people, and the purpose for it on MP was to remind people what that climbing area was like.

That is complete, utter, BS. You do not need permission to take photos in public places (that does not have a general expectation of privacy like a bathroom), naked people or otherwise.

Cold temps and snow is a good thing to an ice climber! But not too much snow..

JSH wrote:Nope. Not ok. If you think it's ok to take a picture of a woman's naked arse and post it here, or anywhere, you are very, very wrong. If you need someone to tell you it's wrong, you need professional help. If you feel the need to defend that action, see above. It's really, really not ok, and you shouldn't need to be informed of that.
You should brush up on the First Amendment. MP.com can do what it pleases, but the act is NOT a crime. You have no idea what the intention of the photographer is and have no right to impose your ethics/morals on the photographer.

Never flagged anything. I'm just an Administrator for Texas/Mexico, but then I don't spend too much time here.

It should be noted that the poster you quoted was making an ethical judgement, not a legal one, so the First Amendment is irrelevant. Just because something is legal, does not mean it is right.

And I quoted someone who claimed the act was a crime.
JSH wrote:I know how to be a good human at the same time. Do you? Can you make that clear?
I'd thought the first thing about being a good human is to not make unsubstantiated assumptions about others (like telling someone you don't know that they need professional help), and to not spread mis-information.

You should use it...and actually read the pages.

General expectation of privacy still applies: federal laws overrides state laws. You get no protection if you walk around nude in public.
