Access Issue: Details

Although there is an old no trespassing sign, according to Douglas County maps, this whole side of the road is in Pike National Forest. I suspect this is a relic from when they first tried to stop parking here and jumping into the Narrows pool (~30 years ago?).

Description

Not a destination for sure, but if you're in the area (the Malay Archipelago), these are nice routes. The rock is easily seen from Java and Bali Domes. It stares right at you when driving to Murphy's Dome. Borneo faces NE and therefore is in shade starting in September. It has lots of fascinating lichens. Most of the face isn't real steep, which may have hindered development and certainly contributes to dirty holds. BRING YOUR BRUSH.

We were surprised to find 1 old split-shank 1/4' bolt on 2 of the lines we did. Someone apparently claimed a few lines and got sidetracked. Maybe the history will come to light?

Getting There

Approach the same as for Atlantis or Murphy's Domes. Go south, past Atlantis on North Platte River Road (97). When you get to The Narrows, it's the rock straight to the left/East. I'd continue south 0.3 miles around the bend to the first parking area (the long one with the perma-potty) and walk back. You'll get a ticket if you park on that curve in the obvious spot (or anywhere they don't have the "P" parking sign).
