Crags are NOT Dog Parks

You want these people to think twice? Pepper spray. Yeah, I know, I know, not the dog's fault, etc. etc. I think this is the simple answer you're looking for.You could just pepperspray the owner.... |

Russ Keane wrote:"My dog stays home." Wow, sounds like an awesome time for the dog. With seven acres to run around on, she does okay at home. Plus, there's zero chance she's going to annoy the shit out of anyone else. |

I love dogs, but it's simple to see that dog shit on the trail is bad for access issues. Also, I don't like dogs stepping on my rope, and I've had quite a few mutts run across my rope while I was belaying. I even looked down while leading once to see the belayer next to mine get knocked down by two dogs chasing each other. |

I can t believe this post is still going. I have been out plenty of time where there are good dogs and times where there are really annoying dogs e.g. eating your food, nose in the crotch, running all over or sitting on your shit. I am not bringing my dog because she is an asshole around other dogs and would be more of a problem than any fun. |

just wondering, do the dog haters on here automatically hate all dogs they see at the crag? or is it case by case for you? I'm a dog lover, and bring my dog often. but my dog is extremely well behaved and doesn't hardly leave my shadow. everybody seems to love her. but I definitely hate when somebody brings some dumb, fumbling, snarling dog fucking things up. If my dog wasn't so well behaved, I would definitely leave her home. I guess my point is, maybe give them a chance? My dog absolutely loves the crag for so many reasons, and I hate thinking that I am upsetting people by bringing her. |

Pepper spray my dog for anything less than a bite and I will put you in the hospital without hesitation.Dog owners are one of the most in-denial groups I have ever dealt with. You think you are going to put someone in the hospital because you can't control your pet and they had to do it for you - you better know whose on the other end. |

jon bernhard wrote:This thread is just silly. I grew up on a dairy farm. Dogs are for work. If you need emotional support from your dog and can't leave him/her at home, maybe search yourself for true reasons to be a climber. Are you a climber because you want folks to stand up and take notice of you and your dog?Dogs are also for companionship. I love my dogter! |

What if the crag was located in a dog park? |
