I climbed 5 days a week for several years until two summers ago. I had a new baby and had to study for the bar, which wrecked my schedule and made it impossible to find partners. I started hiking, but hated it and then started trail running. I went from never running more than 6 miles to running a trail 50k (in Park City) in about 3 months. The next year (2015), I ran across the Grand Canyon and back, ran 46 miles across Zion, and ran my first 100 mile race (Wasatch 100). Trail running has been perfect for me, as it lets me go on my own schedule and do what I want to do, instead of what I can find a partner to do. I still climb whenever I can, but with a second baby and a new house, running is my primary activity.
