Interesting how similar the gear placement (location) is, between you, Andy, and Nick.

A bit like leading "Chicago", no?

I was never really worried about the gear on chicago, but I didn't feel like anything I placed on the first half of this route was a great placement -- I kept thinking of Tommy D in the DLFA film "you just didn't really want to fall on any of that stuff". Took so long fiddling with each piece that I was good and pumped by the crux sequence. A nice route anyway.

I definitely had more gear in than Chris but I remember not being 100% confident in any of them. My thoughts at each piece were like "this should hold a small fall". I also had a similar experience of fiddling with every piece that the pump factor was pretty serious!

All that aside, I thought the climbing was actually quite fun!

Also did upper D as well for the first time in like 7 years and even though it's quite a bit longer and supposedly harder it felt way more casual than lower D, FWIW.
