Planning to climb NE Buttress this weekend.

1 or 2 ropes to rap from summit?

Condition of crossover descent?

Water on route?

Crampons or no?

Cheers guys.

Based on prior years experience (and knowing that the glacier has slid)

1 rope to rap
No crampons or ice axe needed
No water on route
Crossover is a PITA. Lots of steep dirt. Water in all likelihood once you get off the wooded stump (off ridgeline and into basin)
Consider a second car or bike and descend the Slesse Creek Trail.

The cross over is not that bad. I think it took us 3 1/2 hours to go from the summit to the car. The route finding on the first half is a little tricky. Definitely bring pictures of the route with you. The second half is a ton of loose dirt and some steep forest, but the route finding is easier. I think there is a really good description of the descent route on Cascade Climbers.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
