“Splitter” is also commonly misused. |

Kangaru Rat wrote:“Splitter” is also commonly misused. The term “splitter” describes the geometry of a crack, not its quality. It is a crack that cleaves a planar rock face, in contrast to a corner crack.http://www.mountainproject.com/v/splitter-as-an-adjective/112094961 |

Eric Engberg wrote:"brake" hand not "break" hand. Unless that is what you mean.I was reading an article in Alpinist the other day where they had "break" when it should have been "brake". C'mon... Alpinist?? I thought that was a quality mag. |

No one has mentioned that the world class climbing destination just outside of Las Vegas, NV is Red Rock as in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. It's not Red Rocks. Red Rocks is an amphitheatre in Colorado. |

Can we still have a splitter day? Or did you just climb a 300 foot splinter? |

SinRopa wrote: I'm with ya...common usage might make "Red Rocks" acceptable though. The main guidebook even calls it that: redrocksguidebook.com/conta…It's like when people say, "It's not the 'Sierras,' it's the 'Sierra." A bit too nitpicky for me. Doesn't really matter whether you call it Red Rock or Red Rocks. |
