TR in Red Rocks

Hey y'all,

The wife and I are heading to Vegas in a few weeks. I climb a lot outdoors, she's climbed a few times (fine for TR belay, nervous about lead belay). Any suggestions for areas in Red Rocks or other close to Vegas crags where I can set up top ropes for us to climb?

Grades certainly help in pointing you in the correct direction, but there is also a whole book dedicated to Top Ropes and Fun Climbs in Red Rock. That may be a solid place to begin your search

Cannibal Crag in Calico Basin, It has bolts on top to allow you to Rap to Top Anchors. Grades are 5.7-5.11
Great 5.9 and 10a on it.

I would suggest Newcastle crag, you can usually find shade there as well. Also in the first pullout.

Sandstone quarry pullout, you can TR the front wall climbs(some slab climbs @ 5.8ish + fender bender an awkward 5.6), you could also do mans best friend(5.7, 2 p) while there if you were feelin like teaching multi on a "heavily bolted" sport route.

+1 for amusement park. Should be in the shade in the afternoon.
