Hello!
My name is Katie,I am from NJ and have been climbing for about a month now at two different indoor gyms.

I favor bouldering over top rope. I've noticed a huge difference between the two gyms i go to, and a huge difference in my abilities in such a short period of time. it has become such an addiction!!!!

i usually climb about 3x a week, but i climbed 5 days last week (eek)

but anywya, i figured i would introduce myself :)

Welcome.... beware, this climbing can become quite addicting. You might just wish to quit your job cause it gets in the way OR you might just take a few semesters/years away from school... OR you might dump any BF/GF you might have cause for them hanging out at some crummy out of the way place with biting bugs is a drag and you promised to go to the mall and not go climbing this Saturday....

So Katie let me give you this advise. The climbing outside is so much better than the indoor stuff.... get cracking, there is a whole great big wonderful world out there.

Remember to tie your knot.

It's been hell trying to explain my technical climbing experiences to my family and friends. Brace yourself.

Outside is the place to be. Welcome to the sickness. Ugh the GEAR! Love all the GEAR! Anyway. Get some friendly folks that you trust at the gym to take you to the Powerlinez and/ or Peterskill. Those should be close and you will have a blast.

Later!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
