Description
This is a small formation of sandstone 15 minutes from town. The routes are short, and the rock is not the best quality, but provides some good climbing, and is the closest decent climbing to those of us that live here, or are stuck here for work, or both.
Getting There
From Kemmerer, go west on Hwy 30 towards Cokeville about 6 or 7 miles. As you go down a hill, there will be a turning lane for a left hand turn. Turn left here, onto a dirt road. Once on the dirt road, it will soon split, take the right hand split. After about a quarter of mile there will be another split, again, take the right hand split. After 3 or 4 miles, you will come to a yellow cattle guard on a bit of a hill (third cattle guard) with a well traveled two track on the right, right after crossing the cattle guard. Take this two track for about a mile, the rocks will be on the right. Best parking is to go past he end of the formation to where the main two track turns left. At this spot, there is another two track that goes straight, with an area large enough to park a few vehicles in.
