For all you van buildout-ers out there, I am redoing the framing of build out in the van that I just bought. It's bolted to the floor so I need to fill two holes and drill two more. Any beta on sealing the old ones as well as the new ones for maximum waterproofness?
Put a black plastic plug in epoxy or in marine scellant. You can also use a plug and self leveling marine scellant. You can find good stuff on Van forum searching on solar panels installs or roof fan/vent install.
Eternabond tape for seams, silicon for bolts. I've been using the stuff for years. I have to seal the bed of my truck and that is what I have for it. You can order it online or buy it at most RV dealerships and service centers.
A few choices with the best being to weld the hole shut. If you dont weld, which is likely or you would have already done it, I would go with the automotive seam sealant. You could even get a small piece of sheet metal and seal the patch over the hole.
