Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau Alaska Info?

Does anyone have any info on when is a good time to go is? We were thinking about trying to hit it August but worried about to much melt being that late.

Alsom looking for any beta as well, didnt know where else to post this question.

Any Info is appreciated, been out of the chase for a good while.

I did a trip there in August several years ago, and we calling for a ride back to town, instead of doing the glacier crossing, because of bad snow conditions. Prime time is now, as I understand it.

You should be able to land a heli there any time. I've climbed on the Mendenhall Towers twice (going again in September). You'll definitely have a harder time walking back to town if that's what you're asking come August.

good luck. It's incredible to take a six minute helicopter ride to access such top notch climbing.
